When my brother would tease me growing up, I'd say "Stop it! I'm serious!" He'd reply "I thought you were Danielle." That smart a** response was so annoying then, but recently I realized it was rather insightful. Seriousness is actually a mind-set rather than a state of being. We easily confuse the two. The only thing I want to be serious about is my well-being...hence living seriously carefree.
I started this company to remind myself not to take myself or life too seriously. I have plenty of reasons to be serious--the death of my dad when I was a teenager, a mom with cancer, a high-stress job, quitting said job during a pandemic--just to name a few.
I am naturally a deep thinker. Life's challenges led me to overthink. Why is this all happening to me? Who am I? Can I follow my bliss and make money? The more I was in my head, the less spontaneous and fun I became. My heart yearned to be free of my mind's cautiousness. I would obsess about how could I unearth my witty, playful free-spirit.
After much reading, I started recognizing repeating wisdom. Happiness is a mindset. Circumstances don't dictate your happiness. I realized I first had to decide to be happy despite what was going on in my outer world. Then I needed to schedule time for fun so I could go from being happy to doing happy activities.
Over the years, I have studied personal and professional growth topics, applying them as a life coach, academic advisor, internship coordinator and instructor at a major university. I am compelled to share tips and inspirational stories with you to help you shift your mindset and daily activities toward a more carefree life.
Underlying this drive, is my creative drive. Along with work-life balance tips, travel ideas, and inspirational stories to jumpstart your creativity, I am also creating photography collections to bring playful, joyful and relaxing scenes
Thank you for stopping by. Join me in living seriously carefree!
